Manilyn Malagante
Manilyn is a 25 year old B'laan female. She is a graduate of the School of Living Tradition from where she learned the art of Beadwork. She makes belts and other accessories out of multi-colred beads joined together with beeswax coated-thread. the beeswax make the thread durable and threading smooth.
Beadwork is a traditional art of the B'laans. She continues to indulge into beadwork to help preserve their culture and at the same time generate income.

He can speak Cebuano, Tagalog and English, he has been doing artworks for about 6 years now, and he was influenced by his brother who is also a painter or artist. His favorite artist is Fernando Amorsolo. He wishes to have a foundation to be called or to be named as the Youth Artists Foundation; this is to be able to help the young artist to develop their talent and skills and to preserve the culture and traditions.

Marcelina Balansi
Marcelina Balansi is a Gad'dang from Paraceles, Mountain Province, married and has ten children. She speaks Tagalog, Ilocano and the Gad'ang dialect. In 1984 when she got married at age 17, her mother-in -law taught her how to weave the Gad'dang traditional textile the thread which was hand produced by pounding cotton balls from cotton plant they locally grew. At present, however, they use commercial cotton thread to weave. Her mother-in-law also taught her sewing and beadwork. The sewing and beadwork were done by hand. According to her her mother-in-law sells traditional Ga'ddang traditional attire to museums the reason why she has to help in the production. She uses the two main Gad'dang designs on weaving , the inammata which are tiny diamond patterns and the lallad, the stripe patterns. She was also taught the kind of stitch used when pieces of textile has to be joined the joints have to be inconspicuous - this stitch is called the langi. She wants to continue practicing the art that she is into that she may be able to show the younger generation their traditional art.

Marcelina 52 is a Tagakaolo from Malugon Sarangani Province. She is a weaver for 28 years now. She did alot of native products like baskets, different kinds of bags and jewelry boxes using Nito and Tunkayan (a wild plant like bamboo). She wants to preserve their culture and tradition of their tribe; also she wants to be known in the world of art crafts.

Marcelino P. Necosia Jr.
Marcelino “Balugto” Necosia, Jr., is 30 years old from Tulugan-Sungco Bukidnon. He belongs to the Talaandig tribe for whom he is a cultural bearer. This intimate familiarity with the land and its people provides him with opportunities for artistic expression. He is appropriately nicknamed “Balugto” (a Talaandig term for rainbow), as his talents are a true kaleidoscope of various arts: visual, performance and music. Balugto recorded a compact disk, which features his musical talents as a percussionist. As to the visual arts, he has been creating art since 1997, a 1997, a practice that includes painting, bead working, crafting clay ornaments, and making the best sounding drums in the community. Balugto prefers to use natural pigments, and pen and ink in his paintings. Thus, the mountain soil itself provides Balugto with a vast variety of hues for his palette. Part of the process of working toward his dream of becoming a successful, multi-dimensional artist, is sharing his talents, thoughts, vision and ideas with the young artists of Talaandig tribe. In addition to performing at the opening and award ceremonies for the Second Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Visual Art Exhibition in Davao, Balugto’s piece “The Unseen World” a prize in the juried competition. The same piece also won an award at the recent regional Philip Morris Arts Competition which qualifies Balugtp for the national level competition in January 2008.
